During my freshman year, Mrs.V, my algebra teacher, gave the class a huge project. We spent months on this project and It truthfully paid off. We were told to pick a career we can see ourselves doing. We were told to study and present it, as well as create a budget using our income that job would create. This was so that we can get an idea of the real world, as well as see if we could really do our career. I picked midwifing, something I really thought I could see myself doing. But after all this research I realized that I was way wrong. Without Mrs.V's project, I probably would have stuck with something I wouldn't enjoy. I'm glad she made us think. It changed everything.

For Economics the Buckingham seniors had the opportunity to participate in an amazing seminar: "Mad City Money." This seminar gives teens a hands on experience on what it would be like to budget and survive in the real world on a set income. I feel so lucky to have had a chance to participate in this and would recommend it to everyone, even adults. I learned so much about handling money as well as had a lot of fun. This lesson is something I'll keep with me for the rest of my adult life.
